Walterdale Players’ Endowment Fund

Do you wish to contribute in a lasting way to Walterdale?

In 2009, the cast and crew of Hamlet wanted to show their appreciation for the theatre building and the theatre association that has provided so many opportunities for so many creative individuals since its inception in 1958.

The Walterdale Players’ Endowment Fund was born, and a plaque was created to hang in the front foyer of Walterdale. It reads:

Walterdale Players’ Endowment Fund
Casts and Crews in Support of Walterdale Theatre Associates

The plaque lists the show title and year of casts and crews that have donated the minimum amount of $200 per group.  Anyone (cast, crew, family member) can contribute.  To simplify tax and accounting requirements it is best if they contribute directly to the endowment fund.  Cheques should be made out to the “Edmonton Community Foundation” and can be mailed to or dropped at:

Edmonton Community Foundation
9910 103 Street NW
Edmonton, AB  T5K 2V7

They will also accept credit card contributions over the phone at (780) 426-0015.  Please mark clearly on the cheque or an accompanying note that the donation is for the Walterdale Players’ Endowment Fund and be sure to note the name of the play.

All donations over $20 are tax-deductible and a receipt will be issued by the ECF.  Please let your Production Manager know if you have donated so that your contribution can be recognized in the play programs for the following year.

Over a ten-year period, starting in 2009, our goal is to grow the fund to a level of $10,000 so it can be self-sustaining, and start to return funding to the theatre.  If the casts and crews of five plays per year contribute a minimum of $200 each, this goal can be reached.

Thank you for considering this chance to help preserve and grow our theatre.
